		<description>I've used Empathy for a while now because it's a lot lighter than Pidgin. It also has fewer networks. There's no Yahoo! Messenger protocol, for example.

Still, I think that Empathy has the telepathy backend, which is what Gnome is moving toward as an intergrated text/audio/video communication method, so I think it hold a lot of promise for being included and easily accesable from almost every Gnome app. It can also leverage the Evolution address book.
